August 15, 2007 - Well, Audrie is doing great! She is about 27 pounds now and about 3 feet tall. Growing like a weed! Her variety of food choices haven't changed much, but the quantity sure has.

Audrie startes school this coming up Monday(08/20/07). She is really excited about it! We are having her 3rd birthday party on Saturday. She wants all the decor to be "pink"! No shocker there though. For her 3 year old picture she has requested that she wear a pink dress. So now Mommy is on the hunt.

Anyway, Audrie is now a big sister! She loves "Baby Hollie". Hollie was born on 7/17/07, weighing 7lbs 6oz, and 19.75in long. You can look at the additional photos for a peak!

June 21, 2007 - Audrie is doing wonderful! She is growing and mastering new skills everyday. Almost potty trained with only a few accidents, mainly in the #2 department. I am so proud of her. Everyday she surprises me with something she does or says!

She's about 25-26 pounds now, and growing steadily. She eats very well, I mean for a 2 1/2 year old anyway. Her energy level is never ending.

Baby sister Hollie is about to make an appearance very soon! Audrie is getting excited! She is helping get the nursery ready. Audrie now has a big girl bedroom with big girl furniture. She just loves it!

4/9/07 - Audrie is doing great! She's growing and learning so much. She is repeating almost everything you say....so you have to be careful! She's about 25-26 pounds now and around 3 feet tall.

Audrie's reflux is under control now, but she has been having diarhea now for a little over 5 weeks. The doctors have been running every blood and stool test that they can think of, and nothing has come up yet. Hopefully they will find answers soon. Good news is that everything else is normal and she keeps gaining weight. Bad news...we can't potty train yet! Soon though, I hope. (The bottle is gone, and that was easier than I thought it was going to be. I guess she was ready!)

Yesterday was Audrie's 1st true Easter. She had such a wonderful day. She enjoyed her Easter basket, church, and finding Easter eggs. It was a lot of fun! Audrie is getting into all the girly stuff now. Like Barbie, Care Bears, girly Disney movies, etc. But, she still likes "building" with Daddy!

A non-Audrie note: I am having another girl!!! Everything seems to be going good with the pregnancy, except the early contractions again. They're not regular yet, they come in clusters, so the doc isn't worried.

January 17, 2007 -

Audrie is doing great, now. Over the last month or so she been getting sick every 4-10 days, so that has been a mystery. She's had two different upper GI's to see what's going on...waiting for confirmative results, but hopefully just a medicine change for her reflux.

She is eating "better", I just wish she would eat a bigger variety. She has an over abundance of energy and is just going all the time. She is really starting to get into the Disney movie collection(Peter Pan, Jungle Book, Dumbo, Robin Hood). I think she's about 24lbs or so, long and thin. Just like Mom and Dad. We are just about to start potty training...then I think the "bottle fairy" is going to come to get all the bottles and take them to other babies that need them. Good luck right!

Anyway, everything is going wonderful. Her scar from heart surgery is healing good and she doesn't seem to mind it to much anymore. She doesn't even see her transplant scar. Good though, the older she gets the less you'll be able to see them anyway.

On a "non-Audrie" note...I'm expecting a baby again. My due date is August 2nd, but my guess is that I'll have the baby around July 15th. Yeah! We'll see!

Sorry it took so long to update, hopefully next time will be sooner. :)

11/7/06 - A little F.Y.I.....We are home from Delaware. We got home late on 10/21/06.

Audrie is doing good. She runs and jumps everywhere! She has so much more energy now! We went to the doctor last week and she weighs about 22 1/2 pounds and is 2'9" tall. Getting long and skinny like her folks! :)

I am glad everyone likes her doctor pics. We took her to the Sanford Zoo this past Sunday. She loved it! I think her favorite parts were the elephants and snakes. Now she's learning who has a "tail" and who has a "butt". FUN! She seems to be getting the idea though. Oh, and you should see her trying to figure out how a turtle's shell is his home...and how he gets inside. I love getting her to think.

Wednesday, November 1, 2006 11:47 AM CST

11/1/06 - Well Audrie had a fun Halloween! On Monday night we went and she picked out two "Audrie size" pumpkins. She was happy because she could pick them up!

For Halloween she dressed up as a doctor. We bought her some scrubs up in Delaware at the hospital when she had the transplant.(The front of her scrubs say "MD" and the back say "DOCTOR IN TRAINING duPont Hospital for Children".) She looked so cute! We went around the block collecting candy....which she doesn't even eat. But the "trick or treating" concept was fun! Mom and Dad will have to eat the candy...I guess.

Have fun looking at the pictures. Wish I could put more on the site.

Monday, October 30, 2006 6:53 AM CST

10/30/06 @ 0800 - Audrie went to the Cardiologist last Thursday for a check up...he said everything appeared to be ok and to come back in a month. GREAT! Mommy and Daddy got there flu shots that evening also. Oh, and Audrie said "doctor" for the first time last Thurs. to! It was a big day...

We are looking forward to Halloween tomorrow! Audrie is dressing up as a doctor. Audrie doesn't eat candy so she's going to trick-or-treat for Mommy and Daddy. (Although, she did eat an M&M last night!) We'll see...

We are going to go and get a pumpkin today at the pumpkin patch for Audrie. I will post more pictures after Halloween.

Tuesday, October 24, 2006 12:22 AM CDT

10/24/06 @ 1320 -

The picture here is right before surgery when she was a "drunk" 2 year old!!! All we could do was laugh.

Well, yesterday Audrie went and saw the pediatrician...just to check in after surgery. But she got her flu shot, and a pretty band aid. Of course that made it all feel better. I think Mommy and Daddy are getting their flu shots on Thursday...fun!

Audrie is definitely not wasting any of her new found energy. She hasn't been going to sleep until 11 or 12 at night. But, then she sleeps until 9 or 10am. (She's taking a nap now) Thursday she will be seen by a Cardiologist here. We'll see how that goes...she's going to the same group as before, but seeing a different doctor. I let ya'll know how it goes.

Love to you from us....XOXOXOXO

Sunday, October 22, 2006 9:56 PM CDT

10/22/06 @ 2300 - WE'RE HOME!!!!!!!!!!! We got in late last night and didn't get to bed until early this AM. Then we all slept in. I guess we all missed our beds!

Audrie is loving being back at home. She ran directly to her doll house and played the second we walked in the door last night. I think she missed it! The tape over her inscision came off today during the torturous bath time. The inscision looks great. It comes within 1/2 an inch of touching the top of her transplant scar.

Tomorrow I will put some new pics on the web. If you want more, leave your email address on the guest book and I will send you some. Don't forget...I will still be updating this site even though we are home. Please check in every so often to see Audrie's progress.

Love to you all! XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

Friday, October 20, 2006 1:22 PM CDT

10/20/06 @ 1425 - Today we had tests run at the hospital. Everything check out OK! We visited friends and then went for lunch at the "Charcoal Pit". EXCELLENT!!! For the rest of the day we will be relaxing and playing. I'll be cleaning up and doing laundry too. Fun!

AND WHAT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR.................

We are coming home!! We'll be home this weekend. See you all soon! :)

Thursday, October 19, 2006 7:55 PM CDT

10/19/06 @ 2100 - Well, not much to say today. The usual torture treatment in the bath. Then we went to Target...ate Pizza Hut...picked up some necessities, then back to the RMH. We all napped the afternoon away, had dinner down in the kitchen, then played in the playroom and ping pong in the basement.

Audrie is doing a lot better. I only gave her Motrin when she woke up in the AM. Tomorrow we go back to the hospital for a check up and some tests. We will probably be their most of the day. Will let everyone know what happens. Should be all good news!

PS - Sorry, no hippos at the zoo! Love you all!

Wednesday, October 18, 2006 9:44 PM CDT

10/18/06 @ 2245 - Well we tortured Audrie in the bath again. I swear she thinks we're trying to kill her!

Today we went to the Brandywine Zoo. Audrie really enjoyed it! The lions came up to the front of their cages. I guess this means we'll be making a trip to the Sanford Zoo here soon. We had hot dogs for lunch and McDonalds again for dinner. After dinner we went and played in the playroom at the "house". She likes playing in there.

Audrie is feeling better and better everyday. I really love watching her enjoy the world. She is so much fun!

Well, I'm getting closer to getting pics up on the web. I got them e-mailed to me, but now I can't get them from my e-mail to this web site. I guess I'm what you call "computer dumb"! Update later...

Tuesday, October 17, 2006 3:30 PM CDT

10/17/06 @ 1630 - Yesterday Audrie was released from the hospital around 1p. She had a playdate with another little girl and we finally made it to the RMH by 3p. (All the blood work came back good!)

We went to McDonald's for dinner and Audrie did better eating....she's coming around. When we got back to the "house" there were a couple of dogs here visiting. Audrie really liked them...but not as much as Lola and B! After visiting with the dogs she played in the playroom until about 9p.

Today we started the day by "torturing" Audrie by putting her in the shower. We aren't sure wether the water hurt her inscision or if she was just scared. Either way she screamed the entire time. (I think she was just scared.) Then we went and had pizza for lunch. Audrie had 1 1/4 pieces. Her appetite is taking off! YEAH! We went to the mall and Audrie ran around because it was raining outside. Now it's nap time.

Check back later...Hopefully I will have pics tomorrow. the social worker here at the "house" said she would help me get some on the site. We'll see...

Hugs and kisses from us to you!!!

Monday, October 16, 2006 11:17 AM CDT

10/16/06 @ 1100 - Sorry about not updating yesterday. I tried and couldn't get access to the site. I guess it was down on my end, or something.

Audrie has been off her IV since yesterday at 2am(Sunday). Due to kicking it out while sleeping...the IV was in her left foot. Her fluid intake has picked up a little, but could be more. She is eating a lot more. Last night for dinner she had a plate of mac-n-cheese. She ate about 75%. I hope she keeps up with the appetite!

We went down to the playroom and boy did she have fun! We kept up with her Motrin and Tylenol, so Audrie was running and climbing everywhere. She even tripped a couple of times and she acted like nothing was wrong. (Guess the meds are working!) The playroom and some wagon rides and she's a happy camper! Oh, lets not forget the DVD player.

Today they are going to take some blood and run labs. If her numbers are good, then we might get released to the Ronald McDonald House today! They think she might pick up on drinking in a different environment. I hope they're right!

Well, it is now 1125... I had to leave for a minute. They just drew blood and took her heart monitor off. Yeah!!! Now Audrie doesn't have to walk around with a monitor attached to her in a backpack. It will make playing a lot easier.

Check back later, hopefully with great news!

10/16/06 @ 1100 - Sorry about not updating yesterday, I tried and couldn't get access to the site. I guess it was down from my end, or something.

Audrie has been off her IV since yesterday at 2am(Sunday). Due to kicking it out while sleeping...the IV was in her left foot. Her fluid intake has picked up a little bit, but should be more. She is eating a lot more. Last night for dinner she had a plate of mac-n-cheese. She ate about 75

Saturday, October 14, 2006 7:01 PM CDT

10/14/06 @ 2000 - Audrie is still not wanting much, if anything, to drink. So, as of 1515 she was put back on IV fluids. I think total today she has had 3-5oz. She has been eating a little bit, but didn't want anything to eat for dinner.

Audrie started smiling and laughing later in the day, I guess about 1800. That was good! From what we hear, day 2 post-op is the worst. Tomorrow should be better...I hope she drinks more. She's asleep right now, but might be waking up here soon.

Write tomorrow, unless something changes tonight. Love you all!

Saturday, October 14, 2006 10:20 AM CDT

10/14/06 @ 1120 - Well, we had a restless night. Between Audrie not sleeping the whole night and the nurses coming in and out. I guess it'll get better.

She had a chest x-ray this AM around 0600. Audrie hasn't wanted anything much in the way a fluids....but she did eat 115 cheerios around 0915-30. Since Audrie isn't wanting to drink anything and I guess they thought they saw something on the x-ray, she had an ECHO done around 1000 to check for fluid buiding up around the heart. Everything checked out perfectly fine..........so we just have to keep encouraging her to drink.

After the ECHO we gave her a sponge bath and washed her hair. It was all knotted and matted up behind her head. Then we put her pj's on and put her in the wagon. We went for a walk around the floor(with Audrie in the wagon) around 1030. She enjoyed the ride, even though she's not showing a lot of emotion right now. She didn't even want a sticker when we went by the nurses station!

Right now Audrie is asleep in the wagon...she didn't want to get out. Brian is napping in the bed, and I am doing this. I still can't figure out the picture thing yet. Maybe when we get to the Ronald McDonald House.

Write again soon, and we enjoy reading everyone's comments. Thank you!

Friday, October 13, 2006 2:26 PM CDT

10/13/06 @ 1525 - Well, Brian and I went to see Audrie at 1000. At 0900 they were taking out most of her lines. She was sedated with a medication that would make her hallucinate. So they had the curtains pulled shut and all the lights off. We stayed for a few minutes, then let her get some rest.

Around 1400 I called and she was still alseep, so we went to get a bite to eat in the cafeteria.

At 1450 I called again (we have to call everytime to see if it's ok to come for a visit), and they said that they were waiting to hear from us again and that they were bringing Audrie to her room. Yeah!

So Audrie has been in her room now for 30 min. She had a bottle and is lying in the bed next to Daddy watching "Charlotte's Web". She seems to be very comfortable, as long as you're not moving her a whole lot. (Audrie is talking to Daddy and me about what she sees in the movie.)

I will update again later. Maybe there will be pictures, if I can figure it out.

Thursday, October 12, 2006 9:02 PM CDT

10/12/06 @ 2200 - We just came from the ICU and Audrie is doing as good as expected. Her breathing tube came out around 3p. All of her blood levels were "perfect" after the tube came out....Doc said they couldn't be better. Good news huh!

Anyway, she should be out of ICU before lunch if all goes well. (Which it will) Right now the anestesia is still wearing off and she's fighting the restraints every time she starts to wake up. Each time she wakes it becomes a little easier. The nursing staff is wonderful. They have a tv cart next to her bed that they are playing movies on to help distract her. (I said, "Great, now she's going to expect a tv in her room! HAHAHA!) All this personal attention and she's going to want to be spoiled! :)

Keep checking the site, I will update as soon as anything changes. Love you all, and keep the prayers coming. I will try and get some pictures on tomorrow, but for now ER is on!

Thursday, October 12, 2006 9:26 AM CDT

10/12/06 @1020 - We just went into ICU to see Audrie. We dropped her off at the operating room door at 0800 and surgery started around 0830. By 1005 the Surgeon came into the room stating the surgery was complete and we could go see her in ICU. The hole in her heart, which was about the size of a "dime", was closed. They also put in a "heart lead". The heart lead is just in case she will need a pace maker later down the road. If she needs a pace maker having the lead put in now will make the next surgery less invasive.

Right now she has a breathing tube, 2 IV's, NG tube(to keep her stomach empty), chest drain, and is hooked up to what seems to be every monitor in the ICU.

On a whole Audrie is doing well! As of yesterday she weighs around 22lbs and is about 32 1/4in tall. The hospital is providing Brian and I with meals. There are also two twin beds in Audrie's room, which is where we will be staying. Everyone is very accommidating which is great!

I will update again as soon as anything changes...we get to go back in and see her in about an hour. Your prayers are working, please keep them up!

Sunday, October 8, 2006 2:49 PM CDT

Well, as of today Audrie is doing great! We have had her on "lock down" pretty much lately with the impending surgery this week. The heart surgery will be this Thursday the 12th of October.

Audrie is growing up so fast. Her speech and memory get better everyday. She's a little "monkey see, monkey do"!

We leave for Delaware Wednesday morning. I will update this site as often as I can to let everyone know how Audrie is doing. Yes, I will put pictures up to if I can.

Prayers, prayers, and more prayers please...while we're gone. Thank you!

Wednesday, August 9, 2006 9:44 PM CDT

Today Audrie had labs drawn again to check her liver enzyme levels, among others. Good news!! All the labs came back normal.

Audrie's birthday party is going to be on August 19th. Hard to believe she's going to be TWO!!!! What an adventurous couple of years...and I have the grays to prove it! :)

Audrie's heart surgery will take place sometime in October. This way she will be healed before the holidays. The surgery will take place up in Delaware. We should only be gone 1-1 1/2 weeks, "I think". I will write updates regarding this as I get more details.

Other than the normal "almost" 2year old stuff, all is well on our side! Write later.

Tuesday, July 25, 2006 10:30 PM CDT

Well, on Monday (07/24/06) Audrie had her blood drawn again to check her liver enzyme levels.(She completed her 5 day course of steroids Saturday morning (07/22/06).) Her levels went back down.....good news!! :)

She will have blood drawn again in about 2 weeks to check her levels again...this time when the steroids are out of her system. If her levels remain down then all is well, probably a mild rejection. If her levels go back up, then they(the docs) will do a liver biopsy to determine what is going on.

Please keep Audrie in your prayers and all will be well!! Thank you to all who keep checking this web site to see how Audrie is doing. Bless you all!

Wednesday, July 19, 2006 4:43 PM CDT

Well, everything has been going good! Audrie has been eating better and gaining weight. As of Monday, 07/17/06, she was a little over 22lbs and around 31 1/2in tall.

Lately her liver enzyme levels have been high. So we did an abdominal ultrasound on Monday. It was clear, so she is on a 5 day course of steroids. Next Monday (07/24) she'll have blood drawn again. If the levels are still elevated, then a liver biopsy might be in the future to determine exactly what's going on. If the levels are back down, then we can pretty much assume she had a mild rejection. (I will update with further information.)

Also this past Monday, Audrie had a sedated echo (ultrasound of the heart). This test showed no change on the hole in her heart. Surgery is a go, whenever convenient for us. Meaning it doesn't have to be done now, but, better to have surgery now rather than later. This way she won't remember it. We just have to make sure the liver is ok first.

On a lighter note...Audrie is running and jumping all the time. She has two speeds....fast and faster!! She is talking all the time. Some of which you can understand and some you can't. Her favorite "toy" right now...bubbles! Audrie loves to go swimming and jumps right off the side of the pool to you. Not afraid of anything. I bet she could climb Mt. Everest if given the chance!!

Well, I hope you enjoy the pictures that I have posted. Maybe I will update sooner rather than later next time!! :)

Sunday, April 23, 2006 3:02 PM CDT

Well, vacation was a lot of fun!!!!! Audrie did a lot better than I expected. Thank goodness for DVD players in the car. Without that the drive would have been a lot worse.

Audrie hiked and went to the top of mountains. Dad carried her in the "backpack" during most of the hiking, but on flat ground she walked. She liked the hills a lot. But, Audrie's favorite part was splashing in the rain puddles!!!

We visited the Transplant team at the duPont Hospital in Delaware. They are all doing great, and very excited to see how well Audrie is doing. They couldn't believe how big she has gotten in the last year.

We also went back to The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware. The addition to the House is wonderful, they can accommodate so many more families now. And the kitchen....it was huge!!!! Nothing compared to the old one that we used. It was great to see everyone at the House that we knew.

I am so happy we got to go up north to see everyone, I can't wait until next year......but I bet the pocket book can!! :)

Thursday, April 13, 2006 6:52 AM CDT

I know it's been a while since my last entry, but my camera's memory was full and I didn't have any recent pictures until now!

So, Audrie is doing wonderful!! She is so very active all the time. She finally made 20 lbs not so long ago. This meant we could turn her car seat around so she could face forward. Poor girl was 19m old before being able to ride in the car forward facing! Oh well, it was safer for all of us I guess. ( also about 30+ inches tall)

Audrie has 15 teeth now! (The better to bite you with...) She tries to climb everything...and I mean everything. She has recently tried standing on a ball. Maybe she'll be in the circus one day! She's eating better now. Her favorite is a hot dog, or as she says "dog dog". Still not a fan of any fruit, but that could be the medicine or something. Audrie is up to wearing 6-9m size in clothes, except 12m in pants because of the length.

The personality she has now is so funny at times. She laughs at everything and sometimes at nothing! Her favorite tv(or DVD) shows are Sesame Street(Elmo) and Blues Clues. She interacts with the programs, which is so cute to watch. She also tries to mimic everything you do now, so we have to be careful! We also, when talking, have to spell things already when she's around. It's amazing how soon you have to start doing these things. She understands almost everything I say to her.

We are going on vacation tomorrow to Delaware. Just to visit everyone that had a hand in her surgery. I bet they are going to be so amazed to see Audrie now - over 1 year later. After we see everyone then we are going to visit the Hershey factory and then off to Ashville, NC for the remainder of the vaction. So when we get back, I am sure to have lots of pictures to share. Check back later! Hopefully it won't take me as long to update!! :)

Wednesday, November 30, 2005 5:49 PM CST

11/30 - Went to the doctor today. Audrie is now 18lbs 4oz and 28 1/2in long. In the last month she gained 1 pound and 1 inch!! She is growing up so fast. Audrie is eating better now....last night for dinner she had fried shrimp!! She also loves to eat pasta, especially spagetti. Still not a fan of anything sweet.
**Audrie has a mouth full of teeth now!!(4-molars, 4-top (front), 3-bottom(front)) And more coming in. Drooling constantly and having to wear a bib all the time.
**She is "almost" running everywhere!! Always busy!! Her favorite toys are books. She also loves listening to music and going outside.
**We took Audrie to see Santa this past saturday....what a picture!! She was terrified of him and screaming to get down. I kinda felt bad, but it makes for interesting conversation when she's older! :)
**Well, I guess I'll update later. All is well around here!

Monday, October 3, 2005 4:04 PM CDT

10/3 - Well, last week we went to the doctor's appts. Audrie is now 16lbs 7oz and about 27in long.(only a 6oz gain in a month, but with the ear infection, diarrhea, and not eating...I didn't expect a whole lot) Docs say she's doing GREAT!! Dr. Piniero calls her "Twiggy" - the "60's icon"/model. The cardiologist will see her again just before her 2nd birthday, then based on her size and health, make a date for surgery to fix the hole in her heart. So all is well in Audrie land!

**FYI- Audrie can walk now!! Getting more and more comfortable every day. She is everywhere...I can barely keep up! :)

Sunday, September 11, 2005 10:33 PM CDT

9/11/05 - Well, sorry I haven't updated in a while. I didn't realize the last time was in June. OOPS!

*Audrie has been doing great! At her last doctor appt on the Aug. 31st she weighed 16lbs 1oz and 26 1/2in long. She is down to 4 meds now and off her steroid. Yeah!!!! Her cardiology appt is for this Tuesday the 13th. I'll update again after that appt.

*Audrie's 1st Birthday was great!! (8/22) I decorated the entire dining room/living room the night before with streamers and balloons so that when she woke up on her birthday it was party time. We planned to have her party on Sat. the 27th, but since Hurricane Katrina was "supposed" to give us more rain than we got, I post-poned until the next weekend 9/3. Lots of family and friends came over to celebrate.

*Audrie can "almost" walk by herself. She cruises furniture like a pro, and pushes anything she can to get around. Her new fascination is pushing buttons...especially turning the tv on and off. She has 7 teeth now!(2-bottom, 4-top, and a bottom molar) So we are battling "biting" now. She is still the happiest baby I know, smiling all the time!! She loves toys that make sounds and music! She dances to just about any music she hears. Audrie gives kisses without being prompted. She can point objects out in a book. Pretty good for a 1 year old I think. She can drink from a cup and a straw, sippy cups are a toy to her.

*Everyday she amazes her Daddy and me with the things she knows and is learning. I hope this amazement never ends!!

Thursday, June 30, 2005 1:36 PM CDT

Wed 6/29- Today Audrie went to the doctor. She is growing like a weed!!! In the last two weeks she gained 11oz and has grown 3/4in....so that makes her 14lb 5oz and 25 3/4in long now. I am so proud of her!!

*She cont. to become more and more confident with pulling herself up and walking around. (Holding on to things of course.) She has 4 teeth now, 2 top and 2 bottom, and more on the way. Everyday she surprizes me with what she does.

Wednesday, June 22, 2005 9:28 PM CDT

****Learning to surf during my first trip to the beach!!

**Audrie is doing wonderful!! She is pulling herself up to her feet and cruising around the coffee table. She can crawl at warp speed at times, or though it seems!! I think she'll definitly be walking by her birthday. Oh, and did I mention.....she is great at making messes. :)

**Audrie is always full of smiles!! With a great personality to go with them!!

**At her last Dr. appt. she weighed 13lbs 10oz and is 24 1/2 inches long. Growing slowly but steadily!!

*By the way, for those who didn't know.....there is a whole other page of pictures. Not just the one on the front page. (go to- view photos) I know I'm not the best at keeping up with this like I used to, but hang in there with me if you want to keep posted and see new photos. Thanks

Wednesday, May 18, 2005 2:16 PM CDT

Wed 5/18- Doctor appt. this morning went good. Audrie now weighs 13lbs 4oz and is 24in long. (No gain in height, but that's OK) Had some blood work drawn, so she was ticked by the end of the visit.

***Audrie is crawling on all 4's now!!!! She's a master at pulling herself up....well, most of the time. She shakes her head "NO" alot now........her answer for everything. Working on "YES". :) Audrie kisses "the baby" is the mirror; too cute!

*** 9 Months old this Saturday, 5/22/05!!! ***

Fri 5/13- Last night we had to lower Audrie's crib mattress to the lower level. She pulled herself up to her knees yesterday.....WHAT A BIG GIRL!!!!! She is getting around the house quick these days. Her crawling is still being perfected, but she's getting the hang of it. She can sit up for a long time now. But, if she looks up to high or reaches for something at a distance, she falls over. (I guess we'll have to talk to the diaper company about these "round" diapers!)

**Anyway, not too much to report on. Her next Dr. appt. is next wed.(5/18)

Thursday, May 5, 2005 2:46 PM CDT

Wed 5/4- Today Audrie had a check-up at the doctor. She is doing great. They blew "2" viens in the process of getting blood for some blood tests.(OUCH!) She is now 12lbs 13oz and 24in long. Finally!! I never thought we'd cross the 12lb mark. :)

**Audrie is still as vocal as ever, if not more!!!(She MUST take after her Daddy!!! Ha, Ha!!!)

Monday, May 2, 2005 11:14 AM CDT

Monday 5/2- Audrie is doing great!!!! She is starting to crawl now........AAHH!! She is a pro at the whole backwards thing, it's going forward that's taking a while. Audrie continues to be happy with endless smiles. You would never know anything was wrong. We go to the doctor this Wed. for a checkup and bloodwork. (She is now going to the Dr. every other week, instead of every week.) Hopefully she'll be 12 lbs this week. She is very mobile, but just not drinking the amount of formula the Dr.'s want her to. There are 2 teeth about to break through....I can see them. But, as with everything, they are being stubborn and just sitting below the surface. Says ma-ma, but still working on da-da.

***Mommy is doing great!! (My birthday was just celebrated on Sat, April 30th!!! Yeah!)... Trying "not" to over do it. Not quite back to work yet, but keeping up with Audrie keeps me busy! :) Daddy stays busy working and playing softball twice a week. We both thoroughly enjoy everyday with Audrie. We love her smiles...don't know what we would have done without them.

**Thank you for the notes...I am still reading them.

Sunday 3/27- EASTER!!! We finally arrived home around 9-9:30pm last night. What a long drive that was!!! We are so glad to be home! My bed has never felt so comfortable!

Wednesday 3/30- Check-up at the doctor in AM. Audrie is 11lbs 3oz today....yeah! Everything is going awesome!

Wednesday 4/6- Check-up at the doctor in AM. Audrie is 11lbs 9oz today....movin' on up!!! Everything is still going very good. She gets to get her central line (IV) taken out on Monday!!! (Last dose of antibiotic is on Sat. morning.)

Monday 4/11- Central line was removed this morning....OUCH!!!!!! But, we are all glad that it's gone.

***Her immune system is really low right now, and will be for a while (months). So we can't take her to church, Target, grocery store, mall, out to eat, or anything enclosed. No new animals for a year...she can only be around those she was raised with. We can however, do pretty much anything with her that's "outside", within reason. AND....WASHING HANDS IS A MUST!!!!!---we have sanitizer everywhere. (These are just a few, to list, stipulations we have to live with for a while.)

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE...........
***Audrie is doing GREAT!!! She is eating baby food now; she love's those sweet potatoes!! Yum, Yum!! She is rolling all over the place, probably about 1-2 weeks away from crawling. YIKES!! (Oh, wait, I mean yeah!!) Anyway, all of you will be so amazed at how much she has changed...in just her personality alone. She is so much more alert. I am so happy to have her everyday. Brian and I laugh at her constantly.

Friday, March 25, 2005 9:28 AM CST

Thursday 3/24- Went to the hospital in the AM. Received an antibiotic via central line and had blood work drawn. Everything is going great....just over 11lbs now!!! Very happy!

Friday 3/25- !!!!!!!!!SURPRISE!!!!!!!! WE'RE COMING HOME!!!!
WE'LL BE HOME SOMETIME ON SUNDAY.....SEE YA THEN!!!!

Sunday, March 20, 2005 3:34 PM CST

Wednesday 3/16- Good news!!!! Finally got the blood pressure machine in. Now we don't have to go to the hospital everyday for BP checks. :)

Thursday 3/17- Went to hospital in AM for an antibiotic, via central line, and to have blood work done. Can't wait to see everybody tomorrow (Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle Bob, and Ieleen.....and in the evening.....Daddy and Amy).

Friday 3/18- Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Bob, and Ieleen got in around noon. We all had fun today. Played ping-pong and air hockey. Audrie was happy to see everyone. Grandma started crying when she finally got to hold her. Shocking huh?!? :)
Daddy and Amy got in at 10:30pm. Yeah!!! (It's been a long week without Daddy)

Saturday 3/19- We all went sight seeing in Philly. Everyone had a "true" Philly cheesesteak. Yum!! What a good day, even Audrie had fun! We all headed home (to the RMH) in time for dinner, while Uncle Bob and Ieleen headed over to Baltimore to visit a friend...see them tomorrow.

Sunday 3/20- Grandma and Grandpa stayed at the RMH with Audrie, while Daddy, Amy and I went to lunch and did a little shopping. (No sales tax, hehehe!!) Turns out that Amy and Daddy had a little "glitch" with the plane tickets. Sooooo Amy in flying out in the early AM, and Daddy has decided to stay. YEAH!!!! It's 5:30p now and Uncle Bob and Ieleen are back, so we are fixing to go down and play ping-pong, write later.

*****I'm going to ask someone tomorrow how to get the pics changed on this web site. Just so all yall out there know...the programs on this laptop are different than that on the last one I had. So I have to relearn. BE PATIENT!!! (No one here on the weekend to ask!)

Tuesday, March 15, 2005 8:06 PM CST

Monday 3/14- Audrie had a check-up this AM at the hospital. Everything still going great! Back down to about 10 1/2lbs, but they say it's probablly still fluid (not concerned). Now 34 3/4 inches long...steadily growing now! :) Blood pressure cuff isn't getting here until Friday now....so we have to go to the hospital at least once a day for BP checks. I guess it at least gets us out of the house everyday. :/

Tuesday 3/15- Visited the hospital for a BP check---good. Had our picture taken for the annual news letter/pamphlets here at the RMH. That was cool! Audrie is talking up a storm now. Very close to saying Da,Da,Da,Da.....so hopefully she will have it down pat by the time Daddy gets back this weekend. :)

***I still have yet to get new pics up, but I promise I'm working on it....they will be up soon!!!!

Saturday, March 12, 2005 9:21 PM CST

Wednesday 3/9- Got discharged around noon. Ate lunch and let Mom off at the airport for her flight out. Then back to the Ronald McDonald House. YEAH!!

Friday 3/11- Spent all morning and early afternoon at the hospital getting labs and an abd ultrasound done. (What fun that was!!!)

Saturday 3/12- SLEPT IN!!!! Went out for lunch and drove around. Met with a mother and 12y old daughter who had received a liver transplant at the age of 2y. Her daughter had the same diagnosis as Audrie(but it was caught earlier). She is doing great, never been in the hospital since transplant. Plays basketball and looks as healthy as you or me. Talking to them gave us great hope for the future. :) Tomorrow Brian is "supposed" to fly back home, although I keep trying to change his mind. We'll see if I have any luck.....probably not! :(

***Update more later. Keep writing messages, we look forward to reading them.

***Got a new laptop...haven't figured out where the USB port is on this one....will find out tomorrow (or Monday) and update pictures then. SORRY!!!

Wednesday, March 9, 2005 9:30 AM CST

Tuesday 3/8- No change really. Docs came in and checked her out. Everything still a go for discharge tomorrow. :)

Wednesday 3/9- Docs came in this AM. Gaining weight nicely, about 11lbs now. Eating great. Will be getting discharged in late morning/early afternoon. My mom (Ruth) is going home today and will be making an appearance at the spaghetti dinner.

***Since we are leaving the hospital today, I will not have access to a laptop. I will update as soon as I can. Talk to yall soon.

Monday, March 7, 2005 8:02 PM CST

Monday 3/7- Mommy had her check-up in AM--everything is right on track with what they expect. They'll review my blood work, and if everything is ok.....they'll see me again in 6mo(Orlando follow-up). Audrie's Doc said that everything is good. Weighs approx 10 1/2 lbs. Still looking good for discharge on Wednesday to The Ronald McDonald House.....AND "possibly" going home in about 2 weeks!!! YEAH!!!

***I ENJOY READING THE MESSAGES ALL OF YOU WRITE. KEEP UP WITH ALL THE PRAYERS AND POSSITIVE THINKING....IT SEEMS TO BE WORKING. HOPE TO BE HOME SOON!!

Sunday, March 6, 2005 5:05 PM CST

Sunday 3/6- Dr. Dunn came in to visit in AM. He said that all the "main" hurdles have been overcome!!! Lots more smiles today, and eating alot of formula. Everyday keeps getting better and better.

Saturday, March 5, 2005 6:21 PM CST

Saturday 3/5- No change, everything is going good. We had a lazy Saturday. No Docs until Monday. Oh yeh, Daddy learned how to clean, give meds, and flush the IV this morning.

***** AS REQUESTED *****
The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware
1901 Rockland Rd
Wilmington, DE 19803
(we are in room 214)

Friday, March 4, 2005 4:42 PM CST

Thursday 3/3- Audrie had her central line replaced(IV line). A minor surgical procedure that went off without a hitch. She came out smiling!! Her nurse washed her up really good today. That made a big difference! Last belly drain was removed(had 3). Off all IV meds but one.

Friday 3/4- Daddy learned how to change a central line dressing (using sterile technique). Boy, that was fun to watch!!! We also learned how to give meds through the line and flush it. Yeah! Started on Carnation Good Start formula.
Also, the Doc said that if everything keeps going as is, we are looking for discharge over to the Ronald McDonald House as early as next Wednesday!!! Good News!

Thursday, March 3, 2005 12:10 AM CST

Tuesday 3/1- Audrie started on pedialite (flavored with cherry flavoring...and heated---"she's not spoiled!"). Still didn't like it much, so we tried diluted apple juice with half water. Boy did she like that! Heated of course.

Wednesday 3/2- Mommy got her staples taken out! Then I.V. was taken out and discharged by noon. Now I spend my days in Audrie's room and nights and the Ronald McDonald House. Daddy still stays everynight with Audrie in her room. Audrie was supposed to have her central line replaced, but it was postponed until tomorrow--due to trouble breathing. Post-op tests performed (ECCO, chest x-ray, and an abd- ultrasound). Started on a little bit of formula today as well.

***Thank you again for visiting this site and leaving messages. We are greatfull for everything you all have done.

Monday, February 28, 2005 9:35 PM CST

Friday- Mommy's surgery started at 9:10a and ended at 11:50a. They removed 1/3 of my liver. Everything went great with no complications.YEAH!!! Audrie's surgery started at 12:20p and ended at 4:20p. Her entire liver was removed along with the gallbladder. Associated with biliary atresia her inestines were slightly inverted....so they were taken out and put back in properly. Her appendix was removed, also due to her diagnosis. And last, but not least, her belly button was fixed(umbilical hernia). The doctor noted that the liver started functioning right away. YEAH AGAIN!!! Boy Daddy had his hands full! :)

Saturday- (both in PICU) Audrie started breathing on her own and they removed the resperator around 10a. She's doing great! Mommy walked down to her room twice; it felt like running a marathon. Mommy got to hold her for the first time on second walk to room.

Sunday- Mommy got moved to regular peds floor for recovery in afternoon at 2:45p, room 3408.

Monday- Audrie got moved to regular peds floor for recovery in afternoon around 2p, room 3406.

****Both of us are doing great. They say Audrie is doing better than expected. She got 22 staples, while I got 28.
Enough of this stuff for now, let me tell you about the weather.
****On Thursday it snowed about 4 inches....it was GREAT! I said that "It was better than any Christmas morning"!!! On Monday it snowed about 6 inches so far and still falling and it's 11:20p now!! YEAH!!

THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS. YOUR COMMENTS MEAN SO MUCH TO US. WE MISS YOU ALL.
